Summer Carnival Party in Fitzwilliam Square
We’ve helped organise some really amazing corporate Summer Parties this year, and had a ball while doing it, but this one had to be one of my personal favourites. In the amazing setting of Fitzwilliam Square, it just looked so fantastic when all the different elements came together. The evening just ran so smoothly, with everyone in attendance getting involved in the range of fun activities to choose from and there was a lovely, fun, relaxing atmosphere in the square.
The best thing about running an event like this is that it is fully customisable to suit each individual group’s needs. This event had so many different elements which came in to play, from infrastructure, to lighting, to inflatables & carnival stalls, to performers. It really was a feast for the eyes, and the visual impact of when you first walked into the Square really was so impressive.
Upon entrance you were greeted by flowing ribbon streamers which hung from the trees and gigantic, vibrantly coloured festival flags over 20 feet tall, lined the pathway. At the back of the Square stood a large, floored Marquee and two Gazebos, both with flooring. Inside these was were the caterers and fully stocked bar were based, along with some seating, and an indoor Arcade Games area. To the right we have some large, colourful inflatables – The Penalty Shoot Out Inflatable, and the Basketball Shoot inflatable. To the left of the marquee stood several fantastic Carnival Stalls, such as Rifle Range and Hook-a-Duck. Guests were handed out a cup of casino chips by the ‘Human-Table’ on arrival, and bet against one another and the house on the various games and activities. Fantastic Performers such as Stilt walkers, a Penny Farthing cyclist, and a Strong Man circulated the Square, interacting with guests and keeping people laughing. An MC precede over the whole event, giving the evening a nice steady rhythm and creating a fun & energetic atmosphere. The MC also gave out spot prizes throughout the evening and presented a Trophy to the player with the most chips and the end of the event. There were additional fun and colourful elements based around the Square to add to that fun Summer Carnival feel such as Candyfloss and popcorn machines, and a full chill out area with picket fencing, brightly coloured bean bags and giant games such as Giant Jenga and Connect Four. An array of different styles of lighting, such as up-lighters and festoon lighting added to the great visual of the event, with the festoon lighting in particular helping to reinforce that summery feel.
This truly was such an enjoyable event to work on and with such positive feedback from the client we really can’t wait to run another event like it!
